On March 29th, our Havelock Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee hosted their semi-annual “Pig Pickin’” for the Marines and Sailors aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point at Hancock Lodge.
Marines from CNATT joined us for a night of BBQ, giant Jenga, corn horn, and community!

Jim Hunter of DAV Chapter 26 and Vice Chairman of the Havelock MAC said, “It’s always a good time to celebrate the young service members as they’re coming up. Events like this mean more to them than many understand. I understand that because as I was coming up events like this didn’t happen often and you didn’t know people outside appreciated the service you were providing. This allows them to know there are people outside the gate that see it.”
Thank you to our sponsor, CarolinaEast Health System for helping make this event possible. As well as to Shortway Brewing Co. and Moore's Olde Tyme Barbeque Chicken & Seafood for providing our sides and beverages.

And a huge thank you to Frank Amato (Amato Insurance Group) and Gary Baldree (Baldree's Tire Pros of Havelock) for donating their time, resources, and talent in order to provide us with an incredible smoked pig! It was delicious!

The Havelock MAC is honored to celebrate and serve our Marine Corps community with events like this one!
