The Military Affairs Committee brings together Havelock Chamber members who are committed to strengthening military-civilian relationships and honoring the service of those stationed at MCAS Cherry Point. Several committee members are veterans whose own military service provides a unique perspective and deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by our armed forces.
To fulfill its mission, the Military Affairs Committee (MAC) serves as an important informal liaison among MCAS Cherry Point, the Havelock Chamber of Commerce, the Havelock Board of Commissioners, the Craven County Board of Commissioners, the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Military Affairs (GACMA), the Civilian-Military Community Council (CMCC), and state and federal elected officials. Through these relationships, the MAC helps foster communication, collaboration, and mutual understanding between military and civilian stakeholders.
Each quarter, the Military Affairs Committee hosts a Service Member of the Quarter recognition ceremony to honor an outstanding service member for their dedication, achievements, and contributions to both MCAS Cherry Point and the
greater Havelock community.
In addition, the MAC sponsors several morale-building events throughout the year in partnership with the Single Marine Program. These events provide opportunities to express our community's gratitude and appreciation for the men and women who serve, recognizing their commitment, sacrifice, and service to our nation.
