Othe Chamber hostedts annual Salute to Veterans event — a moving tribute to the men and women who have selflessly served our nation in uniform. Held in honor of both veterans and active-duty military personnel, the event has been a proud community tradition since 2003.
The evening began at 6:00 PM with a silent auction and hors d’oeuvres, welcoming guests into a patriotic atmosphere filled with gratitude and camaraderie. Attendees then enjoyed a plated dinner catered by The Flame, accompanied by stirring patriotic music and heartfelt entertainment.
Major General Tom Braaten (USMC, Retired) served as the evening’s Emcee, guiding the program with dignity and respect. North Carolina Senator Bob Brinson was the evening's guest speaker.
In addition to the program and dinner, guests were moved by the Old Glory Flag Ceremony, participated in a 50/50 raffle, placed bids in the silent auction, and witnessed a touching cake-cutting ceremony honoring those who have served across generations.
The Salute to Veterans was a beautiful reminder of the strength and spirit of the Havelock community — where honoring those who serve is not just an event, but a deeply held tradition.
